Attempts are made to treat or reduce the complications of corona. Researchers, physicians, and Iranian knowledge-based companies have joined this national movement to eliminate this dangerous virus as soon as possible. These efforts continue in Iran by assessing therapeutic results of two drugs of “Acterma” and “Remdesivir”.

Mostafa Ghanei, the secretary of the biotechnology development headquarter, who currently work as the head of the corona fight committee, expressed about the two drugs:  preliminary results of the effect of Acterma on patients with coronary heart disease will be known in two weeks and research continues on Remdesivir.

Pointing out that the Iranian researchers are attempting to produce IVIG or corona immunoglobulin, he continued: we have good news for coronavirus antibodies for people soon. However, we will not announce anything until the end of the investigation and the results are final. We anticipate that it will take between 2 and 3 months to announce the results of the research.

Emphasizing the daily monitoring of global research on corona, Ghanei talked about the efforts made by corona fight committee to evaluate drugs effective in the treatment of the disease. According to Ghanei, there is still no definite drug for corona treatment and the claim to treat corona disease with AIDS or flu diseases is false.

The secretary of the biotechnology development headquarter pointed out the around the clock efforts made by researchers in the country, asserting: to date, 200 scientific studies have been conducted on corona, and our domestic research has a considerable share in the global basket. We hope that favorable results will be obtained soon and announced to the people.

Decrease of Mortality Rate with Plasma Therapy

Regarding plasma therapy, Ghanei marked: some studies in the FDA have begun in the country that have been successful; injections of corticosteroids, hemoperfusion, and other treatments that a physician can use are also underway; some measures, such as plasma therapy, have been shown to reduce mortality caused by corona.

There is still no discovered formula for corona treatment

Ghanei also emphasized: physicians have aimed to use tools to treat corona. However, there is no discovered formula for the disease. The head of the corona fight committee emphasized the high scientific acceleration in COVID-19 field, asserting: we have things to do in the next six more months. In addition, the COVID-19 vaccine will be produced in the next year.

Regarding the staying of patients with corona at home, he responded: those who stay at home must measure their blood oxygen level and must refer to a clinic in case of an oxygen level below 91.

Pointing out that 10 hospitals are working on research on corona, Ghanei affirmed: we will announce the results of a major international study in the next month because the number of our patients is significant, and the country has provided the conditions for this.
