The 11th meeting of the Mostafa (PBUH) Policy Council was held; Sattari: This award is a tool to strengthen international relations / The scientific potential of the Islamic world is shown to the world

The 11th meeting of the Mostafa (PBUH) Policy Council was held in the presence of Sorena Sattari, Vice President of Science and Technology, and a group of members of the council, and a report was presented on the process of measures taken to hold its fourth term.

The Mustafa (PBUH) Award is the highest award in science and technology that is given every two years to the top scientists in the Islamic world in the fields of nanoscience and nanotechnology, information and communication technology, bioscience and medicine, and the best design in other fields. The event is sponsored by the Vice Presidency of Science and Technology.

Referring to the importance of the Mustafa Award in the world, Sattari said: "This award is a good opportunity for Iran to strengthen its international relations and facilitate the process of identifying and using the power of Muslim scientists." This award shows the power and scientific capacity of the Islamic world to the world.

The Vice President for Science and Technology continued: "With the efforts made, about 10,000 to 12,000 non-resident Iranians are in contact with the country, and about 2,000 people have returned to the country." This means using a significant and effective power and capacity for the technological development of the country.

The head of the policy council of the Mustafa Prize, stating that it is not possible to build a fence for science, said: The Mustafa Prize is a good opportunity to use the existing scientific capacities in the world for the benefit of Islamic countries and for the technological development of Iran. Science and technology should not be fenced off.

The head of the National Elites Foundation also said: "I believe that the number and diversity of Islamic countries should be increased to participate in this award." Like countries that have a high scientific capacity and are not yet known. This will increase international relations between Islamic countries. Iran can also use this opportunity to strengthen its scientific potential and establish relations with other countries.

Also, Mehdi Saffarinia, director of the Mostafa (PBUH) Science and Technology Foundation, said at the event: "This foundation has tried to strengthen the relationship between countries and important scientific figures in the Islamic world in order to synergy." The mission axes of the Mostafa Foundation (PBUH) are defined in terms of networking, capacity building, discourse building and accreditation.

 Following the meeting of the Mostafa Award Policy Council, Gholamhossein Halvaei, Vice President for Science, Technology and Innovation of the Mostafa Foundation (PBUH), in his report, said: Done with global standards. In addition to making the call public, we have already sent it privately to 4,000 individuals and entities worldwide.

In the continuation of this meeting, the members of the policy council discussed various points and cases, the need to pay attention to scientists living in Islamic countries, to implement the approvals of the Cultural Revolution, to pay attention to prominent Iranian scientists and to pay attention to problem-oriented projects instead of articles, which some of the points raised in this meeting.

Dinarvand, a member of the council, also said in this meeting: in selecting non-resident scientists, it should be noted that the selected person should also have scientific relations with Islamic countries and offer his services to the Islamic world. Having an Islamic face is another issue that the judges and the selection board should pay attention to.

What does the Mustafa Award do?

So far, 3 rounds of Mostafa Award have been hosted by the Islamic Republic of Iran. An award that seeks to honor the leading scientists of the Islamic world and pave the way for cooperation and scientific and technological development in the world. The Mustafa Award as one of the symbols of scientific merit and excellence in the world was approved by the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution in 2012. The biennial award, given to the top scientists and researchers in the Islamic world, is given to an innovative work on the frontiers of knowledge presented by leading figures in the fields of science and technology and paving the way for the betterment of human life.

This award, which is held with the support of private sector experts, while encouraging and promoting science education among scientists in Islamic countries, has strengthened regional scientific cooperation and has become a turning point in the scientific progress of Islamic countries.

According to the executive document of the Great Prophet Award, Sorena Sattari, Vice President of Science and Technology, is the Chairman of the Policy Council, and Mehdi Saffarinia, Director of the Pardis Technology Park, is the Scientific Deputy Secretary of the Policy Council.

International members of the Policy Council include the Islamic Development Bank, the Academy of Islamic World Sciences, the University of Karachi and the University of Malaya, and the Secretary of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, the Ministers of Science and Research and Technology, Health and Medical Education, Foreign Affairs, and the Chair of the Education and Research Commission. The Islamic Consultative Assembly, the Health Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, the Academy of Sciences, the Academy of Medical Sciences, the Organization of Islamic Culture and Communication, the University of Tehran, Sharif University of Technology, the Mostafa Al-Alami Society, Iranian institutions and scientific institutes are members of the council. The fourth edition of the Mustafa World Award will be held at the same time as Unity Week and at the end of October this year.
