Mohammad Hasan Osareh, secretary of medical plants and traditional medicine technologies development headquarter, pointed out the active presence of companies in the field of herbal medicine in the meeting of “familiarization with the ecosystem services of creative companies and partner executives”, stating: currently, there are more than 2700 different herbal-based products manufactured in the country.
Pointing out the capacities of this industry in the country, the secretary of medical plants and traditional medicine technologies development headquarter stated: the world health organization (WHO) emphasizes on health based on the medicine of nations. Due to the increasing popularity of medicinal plant based products and products worldwide, the herbal industry in our country has also witnessed significant growth. There are a variety of fragrances, powders, pharmaceuticals, and dozens of different plant-based products in the field that have shaped a multi-billion dollar business globally. According to the World Bank forecasts in the future, the medicinal plants industry will see a multiplier growth.
Mentioning the active presence of companies in the field of pharmaceutical plants in the ecosystem of creative companies, Osareh added: their placement under the "creative industries" was a thought that, in addition to creating more boom in the ecosystem, could source significant services for pharmaceutical companies.
In the end, he affirmed: in 2008, there were about 134 medical plant-based products in the country, which has reached 2700 natural products and traditional medicine products.
