The President raised the issue at the meeting of the Steering Council on Knowledge-Based Technologies and Production

Utilizing the potential of artificial intelligence is one of the priorities by the Vice Presidency of Science and Technology's agenda.

The President said at a meeting of the Steering Council for Knowledge-Based Technologies and Products: "If many sectors, especially healthcare and medical services, are carried out using artificial intelligence, costs will be reduced, the process of treating patients will be faster and more reliable, and there will be no need for doctors to be present in provinces lacking specialists; therefore, it is essential that this issue be placed as one of the priorities on the agenda of the Vice Presidency of Science and Technology."

According to the Communication and Information Center in the Vice Presidency of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, at the meeting of the Steering Council for Knowledge-Based Technologies and Productions held this morning, considered a broad and global perspective in new technologies to be essential and a reason for prioritizing in accordance with the requirements of the world today and the needs of the country, and said: If such an issue is realized, in addition to meeting domestic needs, we will be able to have products produced with global standards and also market these products during foreign trips.

Dr. Pezeshkian stated that utilizing the capacity of new technologies, especially artificial intelligence, will reduce costs and increase the speed and quality of service to the people, and added: "If many sectors, especially medical and healthcare services, are carried out using artificial intelligence, costs will be reduced, the process of treating patients will be faster and more reliable, and there will be no need for doctors to be present in provinces lacking specialists; therefore, it is essential that this issue be placed as one of the priorities on the agenda by the Vice Presidency of Science and Technology."

The President considered identifying priorities to be one of the necessities of moving towards globalization, adding: "We have limited resources and unlimited demand, so it is necessary to prioritize and level issues and consider indicators, which can be done scientifically and practically."

Dr. Pezeshkian called having a comprehensive approach to benefiting from artificial intelligence and technology a necessity, and emphasized the need for knowledge-based companies to play a role in solving the country's problems, including eliminating imbalances in the energy sector. He said: "To reduce imbalances in the energy sector, the government has planned to supply 30,000 megawatts of electricity through solar panels within a year, and knowledge-based companies can also participate and interact with other sectors in this regard."

At the beginning of this meeting, parts of the executive directive as well as clauses of the Knowledge-Based Production Leap Law in the fields of research, development and investment were amended and approved. The head of the Innovation and Prosperity Fund also presented a report on the performance of this fund in the fields of investment, empowerment, guarantees and facilities.
