According to the Communication and Information Center of the Vice Presidency of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, this agreement is for the purpose of localizing equipment and strategic items of the gas industry and with the aim of benefiting from the capacity of knowledge-based and technological companies in the value chain of strategic equipment of the National Gas Company of Iran, upgrading the level of the resiliency for creating stability in the supply of essential items and the development of advanced technologies of this industry has been signed and consensus regarding the definition of large-scale projects and advancing the goals of the agreement to meet the needs of knowledge-based consortia in the form of cooperation contracts with a cumulative estimate of two billion dollars, cooperation in the field of development of technological platforms through the acquisition of technical knowledge by specialized knowledge-based consortia or the transfer of technology considering the maximum precipitation of technical knowledge in technological companies are among its main axes.

The Vice Presidency of Science in the framework of this agreement, while reviewing the technological priorities announced by the National Gas Company and cooperating to identify selected knowledge-based and technological companies to meet the stated needs in the formation and management of specialized knowledge-based and technological consortia for the localization and development of knowledge It cooperates with the technical construction of strategic equipment of National Gas Company and meeting the announced demands of this company.

Forming an international consortium and transferring technology according to the needs of each of the related twin technology platforms, cooperation and facilitation to provide financial resources for the projects proposed by the steering committee as well as the projects introduced by the National Gas Company and facilitating the issuance of legal licenses related to the Vice Presidency of Science for the projects proposed by the Steering Committee as well as the projects introduced by the National Gas Company are among the other obligations of the Vice Presidency of Science under this cooperation agreement.

Also, the National Iranian Gas Company undertakes, while determining technological priorities with the approach of increasing technological resilience, reducing exchange rate and stability of the supply chain, creating incentive and support tools to attract the active participation of subsidiaries in the localization of strategic equipment through knowledge-based and technology companies, issuing the necessary permits and facilitating the conclusion of contracts between knowledge-based and technology companies and the National Gas Company will provide the basis for the development of necessary standards and guidelines, field tests and the provision of physical infrastructure and samples in order to localize the equipment and technologies subject to the agreement.

Summarizing the demand in the National Gas Company regarding the products derived from this agreement and to reduce the risk and costs of localization, assistance in guaranteeing the receipt of services and the purchase of technological equipment for the products by making the first prototype and verifying the correctness of the product's performance, diligence and cooperation in the allocation of financial resources to support the technological projects and participate in the financing of research and development costs are among the other obligations of the National Gas Company.
