Technology parks are one of the basics for achieving knowledge-based economy

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Masoud Pezeshkian, first deputy speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, and Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, visited the Pardis technology park today.

On this visit, Sattari stated: knowledge-based economy is an issue that can change the future of Iran. Fortunately, many authorities of the country has realized that Iran cannot be managed by selling raw products and underground resources.

He continued: Iran has significant human resources since it has been ranked fourth in terms of engineering graduates and having about five million students in the country. This means that we have strong infrastructures for knowledge-based economy.

Sattari regarded the development of technology parks as the basis for achieving knowledge-based economy, adding: more than 52 thousand IRR has been obtained by sales of companies inside Pardis technology park in the last year, which is indicative of high wealth-creating capacity of these companies.

The vice president for science and technology affairs mentioned the headlines of his talk with the first deputy speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, affirming: some of the most important topics of our meeting today were the research budgets and policies that must be regulated by the assembly to develop knowledge-based economy and ecosystem, regulations that must be designed for growth of companies in the future.

Technology Has a Promising Future in Iran

The first deputy speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly stated about Pardis technology park and future of science and technology, expressing: after my observations, I believe that there is a bright future for Iran, especially in the sections of pharmacy and medical equipment.

The Assembly Must Eliminate the Financial Needs of Researchers and Take Actions to Increase Their Authority

Regarding the topics discussed with the vice president for science and technology affairs, the first deputy speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly marked: the first step of the assembly is eliminating the financial needs to support entrepreneurs and confirm their resources. In addition, the necessary authorities must be demanded to finalize the ideas and remove the challenges.

 

He added: technology researchers and authorities must present their recommendations for development of this trend to the assembly to take actions in this respect.
