According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Mahdi Faghihi, secretary of information, communication and cyberspace development headquarter, stated that the straightening of data centers is one of the crucial pillars of service and information on the one-day seminar, stating: in the modern world, the effect domain of earthquakes is beyond the geographical area and might be associated with secondary outcomes, which are more disastrous. Therefore, the information, communication and cyberspace development headquarter aimed to hold this seminar in the presence of domestic and foreign experts to evaluate the possibility of aftershocks and facing the related problems.

Faghihi pointed out the secondary crises caused by earthquakes in the country, affirming: crises, such as disconnection of information networks, and banking, transportation, legal and military systems, fuel and energy resources management systems, and authentication and ownership tools and positions, can be important and crucial problems caused by earthquakes.

He also regarded the exchange of knowledge and technology as the most important goal of the headquarter.

In another part of the meeting, Emilio Sapina, entrepreneur and expert in the field of information and communication, asserted: destructive effects of earthquakes are determined in data centers, and do not just include the destruction of data centers. Some of the present data centers lack the necessary standards, including construction standards, for which Iran requires more evaluations due to being an earthquake-vulnerable country.

He introduced his company in the area of data centers and explained: we are currently working in the form of entrepreneurship in two areas of data strengthening and keeping data centers clean, which is one of the important issues in data centers. We hope that proper cooperation could be conducted with Iran after this meeting.

According to this report, this meeting was held on earthquake protection areas and introduction of all related technologies of the world and to evaluate the standards and estimation techniques regarding the strengthening of data centers against earthquakes.
