According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the biotechnology development headquarter and new technologies university of Sabzevar to establish the biotechnology school and provide the foundation for familiarization of students and professors with biotechnology priorities in the health area.

In the signing ceremony, Mostafa Ghanei, secretary of biotechnology development headquarter, pointed out the high potential of Sabzevar, stating: this city has high potentials and capacities that can solve the regional problems.

According to Ghanei, the mentioned agreement is signed to eliminate the regional problems of Sabzevar and develop job and wealth creation to help assess the land and allocate proper budget by biotechnology development headquarter.

According to this agreement, the foundation will be laid for familiarization of students and professors with biotechnology priorities in the health area, research achievements of this field will be guided to eliminate the needs and problems of the country, commercialization of biotechnology will be helped through education, effective interactions will be made between university and industry in the area of health biotechnology and general knowledge of the society will be raised regarding biotechnology area.

In addition, a joint workgroup consisting of representatives of the headquarter and the university is established in line with executing the articles of this agreement.
