According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, “festival of ideas and opportunities” is presented to use the social entrepreneurial potentials in line with reduction of social damages and various crimes, such as driving accidents and crimes, addiction, divorce and theft. The meaning of social entrepreneurship is detection of a social problem and use of concepts and principles of entrepreneurship to create, organize and manage asset for change.

The difference between this festival and other entrepreneurial events in the country is that to date, the purpose of these programs has been more economic. However, in the present festival, the aim is to create businesses that are associated with both economic and social benefits.

The execution process of the festival is as follows: idea owners of the country are required in an announcement to send their new ideas in the area of topics of the festival. These ideas will be evaluated and 25 top ideas will be selected to compete in a marathon challenge in two days and complete their ideas. This two-day event will be held in Sharif University of Technology.

After completing the ideas with the help of experienced instructors during these two days, the ideas will be re-evaluated and three top ideas will be selected to be commercialized.

In addition, a special section exists in this festival for high-school students’ ideas, who can participate in the event and test themselves. It is hoped that implementation of this project and top ideas could lead to significant decrease in social damages of the whole society.

Goals of the Festival of Ideas and Opportunities

Some of the goals of the “Festival of ideas and goals” include the promotion of social entrepreneurship in the society in line with reduced social damages with the application of potential of cyberspace, seeking assistance from the opinion of the community and creation of synergy to decrease social damages and improvement of general knowledge of society members and promotion of the idea that prevention of crimes and all types of social damages is a public responsibility.

Topics of the Event

Some of the topics of the “festival of ideas and opportunities” are designing mobile apps, computer software, video games and websites in the area of prevention of crimes and social damages.

The social damages in the mentioned topics include family damages, cyberspace damages and crimes, addiction and other destructive habits, driving violations and promotion of healthy commute, damages to physical and mental health, intellectual property crimes and plagiarism, economic crimes, other social crimes and damages and regulations.

Festival of ideas and opportunities will be held February 15^th-16^th, 2018 by the support of the soft and identity-making technologies development headquarter. Enthusiasts of this field can send their ideas until January 21^st 2018.
