Development of scientific and technological activities among the researchers of Iran and Australia

 

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, professor Dennis Velakoulis, member of neuropsychiatric center of Royal Melbourne Hospital of Australia, visited the national brain mapping laboratory and Tarbiat Modares University of Tehran and asked for cooperation and exchange of experience with Iranian researchers and professors to implement joint research projects in various areas related to cognitive sciences.

Dennis Velakoulis, member of neuropsychiatric center of Royal Melbourne Hospital of Australia, who traveled to Iran with the support of cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter and due to the invitation of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, described the activities of Iranian professors and experts to be remarkable and regarded the support and investment in specialized equipment in the national brain mapping laboratories and Tarbiat Modares University as significant success.

In an interview with the authorities of these two science and research centers, he suggested that specialized joint projects be carried out between Iranian and Australian researchers and professors. In addition, Mohammad Reza Ay, head of the national brain mapping laboratory, explained about the activities of the center regarding the provision of services, laboratory services and adhering to the futuristic perspectives of the center in the presence of a number of faculty members of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, welfare sciences and rehabilitation and Tehran University. In this visit, the ability to create joint cooperation between the national brain mapping laboratory and research center of Melbourne Hospital was discussed and evaluated.

According to this report, the national brain mapping laboratory has been established with the support of the cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter to respond to a part of research and technology needs of the country in the area of creating the infrastructures for imaging and cerebral simulation for cognitive researches and presenting knowledge-based and updated services in the area of cognitive sciences and technologies.

Promotion of importance of research and technological activities in the area of cognitive sciences and technologies and brain mapping, helping the development of research, presenting knowledge-based services, such as specialized brain imaging, cerebral simulation with the use of various and complementary methods, processing and combination of the data and multi-dimensional cerebral images with the use of updated tools are some of the duties and activities of this center.
