According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the first meeting of the strategic thinking council was held by the energy technologies development headquarter to determine the missions of the headquarter.

In this meeting, the six main missions of the headquarters were introduced and determined and the council members expressed their opinions in this regard.

Some of the main missions of the technology development headquarters of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs include achieving scientific authority, development of knowledge boundary research and national strategic infrastructure, development of the market of knowledge-based products, improvement of technology in the current industries and creation of new knowledge-based industries, development of strategic technologies in proportion to the needs of the country, facilitation of international cooperation and exchanges, and promotion and building the culture of science, technology and entrepreneurship.

Sirous Vatankhah Moghadam, secretary of energy technologies development headquarter, regarded the challenges and priorities in the energy area and explained about the implementation of the mentioned missions, affirming: our main goal is the prioritization of the missions and determining the level of attention and activity in each field.

Vatankhah continued: currently, creation of a market for knowledge-based products in the energy field is one of the priorities of the headquarter. Therefore, attention to the characteristics and necessities of the field of energy, development of the market for knowledge-based products and development of strategic technologies in this field are the two first priorities of the headquarter.

According to this report, three headquarters related to energy, including oil and gas, fuel optimization and renewable energies headquarters, have been recently integrated with each other and continue their activities as the energy technologies development headquarter.
