According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, “brain awareness week” is a global campaign for improvement of neuroscience studies by the Dana foundation and its European unions. In Iran, this week will be held with the support of cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter and with the cooperation of centers and units in various areas of the country. In addition, this is an annual event officially held since 1996 on the third week of March. In 2014, this event was held in more than 55 countries and in the form of 86 campaigns across the world.
Mohammad Taghi Joghataei, senior advisor of cognitive sciences in education, stated about this week: various programs will be held in the area of brain and brain awareness to maintain and improve this field and increase the public knowledge about this science with the support and planning of cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter.
Joghataei continued: brain awareness week will be held in the country for the third consecutive year, so that in addition to training of this field and discussing research projects, the foundation is laid for detecting cerebral diseases and disorders, especially in children, to that they could be prevented and treated.
He also expressed: complete use of these potentials, facilities and capacities could improve cerebral activities and methods to develop brain knowledge, including the policies of cognitive science headquarter.
In addition, a counseling meeting was held in the presence of authorities and managers of scientific organizations, units and associations to create synergy and cooperation, so that the event could be held with the highest quality.
The brain awareness week will be held February 23rd-March 1st, 2018 in the country.
