Two Memorandums of Scientific and Technological Cooperation Were Signed between Iran and China

The presidency vice president for science and technology affairs’ consultant said: The presidency vice presidency for science and technology affairs and ministry of science and technology affairs of People’s Republic of China and Chinese Academy of Science signed cooperation memorandum in science and technology at the presence of both presidents.

According to the public relations and information center of the presidency vice presidency for science and technology affairs, Parviz Karami, the president of the knowledge-based science, technology and economy culture development headquarter, by mentioning the presence of a high-ranking officials of People’s Republic of China who are staying in Tehran with this country’s president, Xi Jinping, declared: During this trip, two cooperation memorandum in science and technology will be signed by Iranian presidency vice president for science and technology affairs and Chinese ministry of Science and Technology Affairs and the head of the Chinese Academy of Science.

The presidency vice president for science and technology affairs’ consultant said about the MoU with Chinese Academy of Science: Referring to previous cooperation between the presidency vice presidency for science and technology affairs and Chinese Academy of Science which is the biggest Academy of the world and includes 116 research and scholarship institutes as subset, Dr. Chounly Bye the supervisor of Chinese National Academy of Science had travelled to Tehran invited by Dr. Sattari in May 2015 and familiarized with parts of capabilities and achievements of our country in science and technology by close.

Formation of the Silk Road Fund

Karami assed: In this trip engagements and consultations began for reinforcing cooperation for science and technology between vice presidency of science and the academy and consequently, a memorandum for forming a joint financial fund with the name of “Silk Road Scientific Fund” was established. This fund is specifically by allocating financial supports with three methods of 1.Carrying out joint research projects, 2.Setting up joint workshops, 3.Scholar and professor exchanging programs; will facilitate bilateral cooperation in advanced technologies.

According to Karami, cooperation between Chinese Academy of Science and presidency vice presidency for science and technology affairs is in the various scientific fields such as Nanotechnology, Cognitive Sciences and Technologies, New Energies and Medical equipment and the mechanism of supporting these projects is the aim of formation of a joint fund named Silk Road Scientific Fund.

Signing a Memorandum by the Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Dr.Sattari

The president of the knowledge-based science, technology and economy culture development headquarter also stated about signing a memorandum with the Chinese Ministry of Science: Moreover, today at the presence of both presidents at Sa’dabad Palace, a memorandum for creating a joint technology park between The presidency vice presidency for science and technology affairs and Ministry of Science of the people’s Republic of China was signed.

Karami explained about this memorandum: Regarding the China’s experiences in creating joint technology parks with other countries and by considering the achieved successes in Pardis Technology Park of the vice presidency for scientific affairs, the topic of creating the advanced technologies park with the partnership of the Chinese party during this country’s president’s trip in 2014 was broached and in the following by numerous consultations with the Chinese Ministry of Science, it led to set the memorandum of cooperation in creating scientific park in the development phase of Pardis Technology Park. In this trip Mr.Wang Yi the Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs as the representative of the Chinese Ministry of Science and Dr.Soorena Sattari the Iranian presidency vice president for science and technology affairs signed this memorandum.

The consultant of the head of the National Elites Foundation also stated: Encouraging Chinese companies to creating R&D units in this park can be one of the advantages of this cooperation.

Establishment of the Iran-China Nano Center

The president of the knowledge-based science, technology and economy culture development headquarter said in the following: According to the reached agreement between the Chinese Suzhou Technology Park and the Nano technology development headquarter of the vice presidency for science affairs, a joint center with the hospitality of the Chinese party at Suzhou Park in Nanopolise area has been founded and from the beginning of the current year has started its activity in the vein of defining cooperation projects and joint investment in Nano and also exporting Iranian products of Nanotechnology to China.

Karami explained about the activities of this center: During the current year, signing 3 cooperation memorandums between Iranian and Chinese companies in Nano equipment and material, setting up match marketing programs with presence of 9 Iranian companies and over than 40 representatives of Chinese companies and setting up 2 educating workshop at Suzhou Schools were done.

Establishment of the Medicinal Herbs Export Base in China

According to the consultant of the head of the National Elites Foundation, the Medicinal Herbs Export Base has been also working in Shenzhen  by the support of the vice presidency for science and technology affairs and with a focus on the private sector since this year. This base’s attempts at the level of the Southern-East region of Asia have led to recording over than 18 Iranian herbal medicines in China and sale of the products based on Iranian herbal medicines with the value of over than 11 million dollars in 2015.

Karami for more explanations for this base said: Moreover, It has been attempted to set the contract for selling the herbal medicines of the consortium of the Iran herbal medicines producer with the trademark of “Avicenna” with the value of 20 million dollars to the countries of Southern-East of Asia from this base.

 

Mr. Xi Jinping the president of People’s Republic of China entered Tehran on Friday Night at the top of a high-ranking group from political and economical officials of this country and today talked with and visited Dr. Hassan Rouhani the president of Islamic Republic of Iran.
