Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, will travel to China as the head of a high-ranking scientific, technological and knowledge-based delegation to develop cooperation between creative and knowledge-based companies of the two countries.

Parviz Karami, advisor to the vice president for science and technology affairs, who will accompany Sattari during the travel, stated: Sattari will travel to China due to the official invitation of the ministry of science of China and managers of 70 knowledge-based companies will accompany him during the trip to increase their scientific interactions with their Chinese counterparts.

Karami also expressed: the vice president for science and technology affairs will meet with the science and technology authorities of China.

In terms of the activity of companies accompanying Sattari in the trip, he added: information technology, stem cells, industrial machinery and equipment, advanced materials and the field of health are the fields of activity of these Iranian-based companies that are headed for the People"s Republic of China.

Holding Technology and Business Meetings in Two Different Cities

The secretary of the knowledge-based economy and culture-building technologies development headquarter announced the presence of the delegation in two technology and business meetings in Shanghai and Shenzhen. In this regard, he claimed: the goal is to find a Chinese investor or business partner to expand their knowledge-based activities.

According to Karami, the first meeting will be held November 11th in Shanghai and the second meeting will be held November 13th in Shenzhen.

However, in terms of the importance of holding the meeting in two cities, it must be stated that Shanghai, besides being the most populous city of the People"s Republic of China and the world, is also a global economic hub and the world"s most populous container port. Shenzhen is also the hub of China"s information technology, communications and electronics. Therefore, about 40% of knowledge-based companies of the delegation are active in the fields of IT and electronics. Hashemi, the technology deputy of the ministry of information technology and communication, and Mahdi Mohammadi, the secretary of the digital economy and automation technologies development headquarter, will accompany Sattari in the trip.

In addition, active companies in the field of stem cells will travel to China, accompanied with Amir Ali Hamidieh, the secretary of stem cells sciences and technologies development headquarter, to evaluate the scientific and technological structures of the country.

Visiting the Advanced Technology Exhibition of China

In another part of the trip, the Iranian delegation will visit the 21st exhibition of “advanced technologies of China”.

Regarding this visit, Karami marked: only 10 companies are present in the fifth pavilion of Iran in the exhibition to showcase their achievements. In addition, the vice president will attend the opening ceremony of the event.

We also have to know about this event, China"s Advanced Technology Fair is held in Shenzhen. It is the largest science and technology exhibition to bring together participants, achievements and innovations in the fields of new energy, new generation of information technology, biotech and environmental protection. This event has become one of the most important technology events in the world in recent years and plays an important role in enhancing scientific cooperation and exchanges between countries.

Visiting Suzhou Industrial Park

Advisor to the vice president for science and technology affairs pointed out other programs of the trip: on November 12th, the Iranian delegation will visit the Suzhou Industrial park, which has been established as one of the major technological advances in this country, Singapore started its activity with the participation of Singapore 17 years ago. The park is comprised of numerous technology areas such as nanotechnology, biotech and ICT.

He also mentioned: the Iranian delegation is visiting the Iranian export base and Iranian knowledge-based companies in the park, whose infrastructure was created with the support of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to Karami, this travel is made to help develop the export of knowledge-based companies of Iran to China and create an opportunity to exchange technology at level of agencies of the two parties. In this respect, he affirmed: several agreements will be signed during the travel.

According to the report, Song Tao, Minister of International Affairs of the Chinese Communist Party, traveled to Iran and met with Sattari. During this trip, he expressed: “I realized that Iran is not just an oil and gas importer and it has considerably advanced in the science and technology fields. Regardless of international issues and challenges, China"s will to develop relations with Iran has not changed, and in the current situation, we welcome further development of relations with Iran.”

The high-ranking delegation of Iran has several other programs to expand cooperation with the hosting countries that will be notified.
