On the first part of his travel to Bandar Mahshahr, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, opened the second phase of “Takhte Jamshid Petrochemical Company” so that Iranian-made products of the field could be produced by relying on domestic abilities.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Sattari entered Bandar Mahshahr this morning and opened the “Takhte Jamshid Petrochemical Company” as the first part of his trip. All stages of engineering, construction, and installation of this complex have been done based on native technical capability and knowledge and were exploited in the presence of Sattari.

The second phase of the company involves PBR production units with domestic technical knowledge and 55-thousand-ton capacity per year, HIPS grade production with domestic technical knowledge and 18,000-ton capacity per year, STR production with 5,000-ton capacity per year, and LATEX production with domestic technical knowledge and 98,000-ton capacity per year.

“Takhte Jamshid Petrochemical Company” specially works on elastomers and supplies the petrochemical needs of the country in the field of polymer products, plastics and elastics. From technical knowledge to the final stage, all stages are carried out domestically. Wastewater disposal is also minimized in this technical knowledge. This act was carried out with the cooperation of Karun Petrochemical Co. and Exir Novin Co. During the opening ceremony, 10 Iranian-made catalysts were unveiled in the presence of the vice president for science and technology affairs.

The Revamp catalyst licensed by Karun Petrochemical Co. is one of the productions of Exir Novin Co. using nickel as a replacement for valuable metals. In addition, LTSC and HTSC catalytic converters, methanation and synthesis of the produced methanol in Kharazmi Technology Development knowledge-based company will be unveiled in this center. Ammonia synthesis catalysts, dry reforming catalysts, ethylene oxide process catalysts and Ziglernata catalysts produced by HNT holding knowledge-based company will enter the industry circle with the cooperation of the petrochemical technology research company. By doing so, a significant portion of the petrochemical industry"s needs will be met by relying on internal capability.

Kerun Petrochemical Co. is the first producer of isocyanates and uses six petrochemicals sold as raw materials to produce materials and products such as isocyanates that have various applications in the industry.

In addition, nickel is used instead of palladium platinum in the cooperation between Karun petrochemical and Exir Novin Farayand Asia, which decreases the costs and reduces the isocyanate products to one-third, yielding a $13-million currency saving for the country.

Start of Domestic Production of Catalysts

The vice president for science and technology affairs visited the production pilot of nine catalysts in cooperation with HNT holding. It also unveiled contracts for the technical universities to produce these catalysts. With this Ziggler Nata isomerization, ethylene oxide, methanol, dry reforming of natural gas, methanol synthesis, high temperature water transfer, ammonia synthesis are produced.
