According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Saeed Sarkar, secretary of nanotechnology development headquarter, described the approach of the nanotechnology development headquarter in the first 10 years during the third international conference and exhibition of Masterbatch and Compound, stating: according to the first strategic document, provision of infrastructures for development of industry and market has been emphasized, and moving toward the commercialization of nano products with an export perspective has been initiated for some time now. In other words, training specialized work force and improving the scientific power have been the basis of movement of nanotechnology development headquarter. Today, we have aimed to increase the role of new technologies in industrial development of economic agencies.

He expressed: therefore, the capacity of synthesis and production of nano primary materials is our goal. Currently, more than 95% of this technology has been localized and has been massively produced in some industrial applications.

Sarkar regarded the second step after development of human resource as penetration of nano technology in the present industries to improve the quality of these products, adding: if industries fail to use the abilities of this newly emerged technology in production and optimization of products, most of markets will be lost in the future. Currently, nano technology is applied in more than 10 industrial areas, leading to decreased production costs and creation of added-value.

He further explained: today, the export geography of nano technology of Iran has a wide range since nano products of Iran are exported to more than 50 countries. However, the volume of export, meaning 35 million dollars, for nano-based products in the global scale is not acceptable.

Secretary of nanotechnology development headquarter pointed out: similar to our fourth rank in the world in terms of nano science production and with regard to our ability to have an annual growth of 100% within a period of time, this advancement has been observed in the nano economy area as well. According to planning of the headquarter, we will obtain a market worth of one billion dollars by the end of 2019.

In terms of the activities performed in the knowledge-based economy, he affirmed: currently, we have launched several mass production lines in China and export to this country was about 5.5 million dollars until the end of 2017 and in 20 various areas. We have also had cooperation with China in export of technical knowledge products and sale, and South Korea has bought its nano fiber production line with the value of 350 thousand dollars from Iran.
