A cooperation agreement was signed between the Vice Presidency of Science, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and the Endocrinology and Metabolism Research Institute
According to the report by the Communication and Information Center in the Vice-Presidency of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, given the importance and effective role of the country's universities and scientific and research institutions in integrating science and practice and directing research activities towards conducting applied research based on need and producing knowledge along with implementing knowledge-based programs and studies leading to wealth creation, the need to pay attention to expanding mission-oriented scientific activities is felt more than ever.
In this regard, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Vice Presidency of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and the Endocrinology and Metabolism Research Institute in Tehran University of Medical Sciences.
This memorandum of understanding, which was signed in the presence of Hossein Afshin, Vice President of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, Seyyed Reza Raeeskarami, representative of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and Bagher Larijani, Director of the Endocrine and Metabolic Sciences Research Institute, emphasizes the expansion of mission-oriented scientific activities.
The main goal of this memorandum is to develop targeted and intelligent support in technology and knowledge-based ecosystem in the field of health, focusing on omics and genomics studies, cell therapy in the field of endocrinology and metabolism, person-centered medicine in health, with artificial intelligence tools for the prevention, prediction, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of diseases, and ultimately innovation and technology for semi-industrial production and commercialization of products and services.
Providing financial and moral support and supporting the application of the results of the projects defined in this memorandum to create extra-academic impacts to strengthen the university's social accountability and meet the country's health needs are among the obligations of the Vice Presidency of Science in this memorandum.
