During the opening ceremony of Hormuz Innovation Tower, the vice president for science and technology affairs mentioned the importance of promotion of knowledge-based businesses and startups, which requires a suitable ecosystem for growth and development of creative ideas. In this regard, he stated: projects such as Hormuz Innovation Tower lead to proper development of entrepreneurship and value added. In a near future, huge developments in the creation of this ecosystem are thriving with the help of the private sector, which is supported by the Vice-Presidency.
According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, who entered Hormozgan to attend a meeting with young and creative activists of the region, inaugurated the “Hormuz Innovation Tower”.
During the ceremony, Sattari talked about the importance of boosting the training zones of creative ideas, adding: these projects lead to good things in entrepreneurship and creating value added by the creative and motivated provincial workforce.
The president for the national elites foundation also asserted: one of the most important valuable effects of forming these foundations, such as Hormuz Innovation Tower, is improving the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem of the province.
Pointing out that this innovation tower is the first move of the province to improve creative, startup ideas and adjust them to the province’s ecosystem. In this respect, he affirmed: in the near future, big steps will be taken to develop such spaces and to promote innovative ideas for academic youth. We are in desperate need of spiritual and financial support of knowledge-based companies and laying this type of foundations.
The president for the national elites foundation mentioned the implementation of the law for support of knowledge-based companies and creative businesses, adding: we have supported the military exemption of creative youth, who play a role in the development and commercialization of these ideas.
Emphasizing the need for promotion of knowledge-based economy as an ecosystem for nurturing innovative ideas, Sattari declared: the science and technology park of Hormozgan has provided a suitable foundation for development of these ideas. Other parts must cooperate with the ecosystem and help the flourishing of creative ideas of the youth in the province so that Hormozgan could move toward achieving local advantages.
The Nine-storey Hormuz Technology Tower
The construction process of Hormuz Technology Tower was initiated in 2017 with the goal of creating a physical space for establishment of innovators, technologists, and knowledge-based companies and creating the innovation and entrepreneurship with the support of the Vice-Presidency.
This nine-storey tower includes a workshop and laboratory space and a joint workspace belonging to startups. Other floors belong to the companies of the growth center and R&D office and active industrial development center in Hormozgan.
Knowledge-based Companies Take Steps on the Path of the Second Step of the Revolution
The representative of the Supreme Leader and the Friday Imam of Bandar Abbas expressed: a considerable part of university curricula are not fit to the province’s needs, and there are no operation-centered fields of study. For instance, there are some limitations in creating coordination between university and industry in the maritime field, which is a domestic advantage for the province. In fact, universities are unable to respond to the needs of this industry.
Hojatoleslam Ebadi mentioned: universities must be able to meet the needs of the province with the serious support of the Vice-Presidency. In addition, universities must help the province and be able to interact with other universities in meeting the province’s needs.
We Seek to Improve the Economy with the Help of Creative and Entrepreneurial Youth
In the meeting with the representative of the Supreme Leader, Sattari explained the efforts made by the Vice-Presidency to enhance the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, adding: the culture of knowledge-based economy lays the foundation for injecting a new generation of entrepreneurs to the society.
The president of the national elites foundation added: the origin of this young generation of entrepreneurs is universities, the most highlighted advantage of which is innovation.
The president of the knowledge-based economy and culture-building technologies development headquarter mentioned that development is an endogenous affair, adding: development that wants to be sustainable and solve a community problem must be compatible with provincial characteristics. This kind of development comes from the province, and the creative and motivated youth are the driving force behind this development.
Pointing out the sustainable development of knowledge-based economy depends on domestic benefits, Sattari emphasized: the employment and value added derived from this area will be more impressive and beneficial than non-native industries.
The chairman of the national space and advanced transportation administration talked about the support of promotion of knowledge-based businesses and startups in the field of domestic advantages of the province, such maritime industry and handicraft industry.
In the final part of the trip, Sattari will attend the meeting of promotion of knowledge-based economy and production, which will be attended by the governor and a number of knowledge-based and economic activists.
