According to the Communication and Information Center in the Vice Presidency of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, Iran's initial artificial intelligence platform was unveiled today to localize and develop artificial intelligence technologies based on the country's strategic plans. Hossein Afshin, Vice President of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, pointed out the importance of this plan in the country's progress in a 2 p.m. news conference.

He stated: "Development and progress in the field of artificial intelligence are among the issues that have always been emphasized by the Supreme Leader and have been among the priorities of the 14th government, coinciding with Elites Day, we presented the "National Program for Iran's Artificial Intelligence" to the Supreme Leader and considered its realization a great wish." According to the Vice President of Science, this new platform, which is the result of the round-the-clock efforts of a team of 100 researchers, was designed based on the knowledge accumulated over the past 10 years.

Afshin called the two areas of artificial intelligence infrastructure and marketplaces as the main pillars in the development of artificial intelligence and stated: The capacity of the artificial intelligence market in Iran is increasing rapidly. Today, we are moving from 2 Hemat (2000 Billion Tomans) to 40 Hemat in the artificial intelligence market, and in the future stages we will reach 100 Hemat. This growth can have a profound impact on improving productivity in various economic sectors. In response to the question of whether this platform will lead to the production of general application software or facilitate the development of indigenous artificial intelligence software, he said: Both cases will be realized. Starting today, various companies will be added to this platform to strengthen it. Several categories will be created that both ordinary people in different fields will use it and there will be more specialized sectors that only experts can add specialized elements to.

The head of the National Elites Foundation also announced the country's entry into the "World Artificial Intelligence Club" and said: "This platform is like a living organism, continuously developing and improving. Its trial version will be available in September of this year, and the stable version of this national platform will be released by March 1404, which will have unique features compared to current models in the world."

In another part of his speech, he emphasized: "If sanctions are imposed on the country, we will be completely safe due to the expansion of this platform." He added: "Appropriate infrastructure has entered the country and we hope that in a week before the end of the year, we will be able to implement most of it and provide the GPU farm to the platform." Afshin concluded by stating that this major project has been completed in just 5 months and said: "We tried to move forward in silence and show the results to others in practice. Today is a proud day for the people of Iran.".
