The Austrian Journal of Europages has quoted in a report that Iranian knowledge-based companies have been able to produce products that can compete with large companies from Germany, South Korea, the US, and England.

According to the news headquarters of Iran Sakht quoted by Javan Newspaper, the Austrian Journal of Europages announced the export of laboratory equipment from Iran with a value of 20 million Euros. One-third of this export is related to knowledge-based companies and the growth of technical patents in the production of this equipment has increased more than 10 times since three years ago.

Competition with Biggest Companies of the World

According to Europages journal, in the last three years, at least 25 companies in the field of laboratory and medical engineering have been able to export their products to Greece, Croatia, China, South Korea, Portugal, Malaysia, Ukraine and West Asia.

Iranian knowledge-based companies have been able to complete with and market share in countries of Germany, South Korea, the US and England.

According to this journal, Iran"s laboratory and medical engineering equipment is currently exported to more than one hundred countries and Iran has independent standing in four major international exhibitions in Europe and East Asia. This field is so large in Iran that there are about 2,000 domestic companies and 3,000 foreign companies in Iran.

Iran"s $7 Billion Market

The growth of medical engineering and laboratory equipment patents in Iran is almost double that of the world. Therefore, the growth of technical inventions in medical device manufacturing has tripled by at least 3 times since the previous three years.

An Exhibition to Showcase Abilities

Europages has also taken a look at the International Exhibition of Medical Equipment, Laboratories, Medicines, Services and Health Tourism, held annually in Iran, and considers the expansion of equipment exports as one of the goals of the Iran Hellas Exhibition. Iran Health Exhibition aims to showcase the latest capabilities of the Iranian medical engineering industry, unveiling technologies and advancements in academic knowledge, expanding the tourism industry, unveiling academic products and services, top manufacturers and startups, liaising with medical center managers, and medical education and export development of laboratory equipment. The exhibition is held in Tehran every year in May.

The Space Is Competitive

Recently, the general manager of medical equipment of ministry of health considered three groups of shortages in the area of medical equipment, stating: the first group is related to raising the price of raw materials and the rate is going to be adjusted by government currency. The second group is about producers who have difficulty producing some items. Therefore, there is a call in the market to allow other manufacturers to compete in a competitive environment.

 Brilliant Position in Medical Engineering

Iran currently ranks 16th in the world in producing medical engineering articles, with approximately 40% of articles produced in this field being related to the knowledge-based units of Iranian universities. Interestingly, the process of accepting papers at more than 90% of overseas conferences is now easier than in-country conferences, indicating a high quality of conferences in the country.
