Ruhollah Dehghani, the vice president of science, technology and knowledge-based economy, appointed Mohammad Hossein Mohammadi Larijani as the director of the national microelectronics program.

In Dehghani's ruling is stated addressed to Mohammadi Larijani: In view of his competence and experience, by virtue of this ruling, I appoint you as the director of the National Microelectronics Program. Due to the necessity of developing the microelectronics industry and creating the identity and independence of the semiconductor industry in the country, special missions have been planned for you in interaction with the deputy of knowledge-based economy development.

"Assisting in the compilation of upstream documents for the policy and development of the semiconductor industry and the silicon value chain of the country with the cooperation of relevant institutions and devices", "Definition, preparation and management of microelectronic technology and silicon value chain driving projects", "Planning, establishing coordination and developing effective communication at the national level for joint policy-making and synergy of resources and capacities of the country's semiconductor value chain", "Shaping the microelectronic ecosystem and developing a knowledge-based economy with maximum utilization of existing infrastructure and legal capacities in the field of design and production without a factory and with a factory for the development of the microchip industry for the size of the market and the formation of the country's microelectronics ecosystem", "Using and maximum participation of private sector investment capacities for the development of the microelectronics and semiconductor industry with the aim of establishing and setting up a factory for the production of silicon microchips and its derivatives" and "Development of international cooperation in joint development and production as well as creating the field of financial partnerships, supply chain and common infrastructure in the field of microchip manufacturing" are among the special missions for this headquarters.

Larijani has a PhD in microelectronics and graduated from Sharif and Shahed University of Technology in Tehran. He was also the secretary of the special working group for microelectronics of the digital economy and intelligence headquarters, the deputy consultant and the director of macro and national digital economy projects of the technology and innovation department in the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
