According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, healthy and accessible water is one of the most important health needs of a society. Water used for general purposes, such as drinking, cooking, must meet certain standards. One of the issues that countries around the world face is the provision of safe water for people"s daily consumption.

The development of industries has increased the level of environmental pollutants in drinking water supplies, making the provision of safe drinking water more critical. Contamination of drinking water can cause various diseases in humans.

Watech Accelerator has aimed to hold the call for innovation challenge of design and ideas to identify new solutions to water problem and pave the way toward entering the industry with the cooperation of center for development cooperation, the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, and Iran water and wastewater engineering company.

In the form of support by the Vice-Presidency, the accelerator follows the path of flourishing of innovative and technological ideas to reach the stage of product registration and commercialization.

The event will be held in the form of an acceleration program taking steps toward the development and commercialization of technologies in the field by recognizing and introducing technologies in the field of water purification.

Training technological teams, and forming and growing technologies and knowledge-based companies in the field of development of water technologies are among the major goals of the program.

In addition to cash prize (15 million tomans), the winning teams can benefit from various services including laboratory and work spaces, supply of primary assets, business education and application of Watech network and development cooperation center for growing businesses in this area.

This innovative event encompasses some major areas, all of which are among the important challenges in the field of water supply. Some of the most important areas include denitritation, reducing salinity, removing heavy metals and odor and reducing water turbidity.
