Improving the skills of children and adolescents in the field of coding will be accelerated
The cooperation agreement of the national project of “increasing and forming talents, educating and empowering coding” was signed in the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs to enhance the skills and entrepreneurship of the next generation by support of various government units along with the contribution of the Vice-Presidency to increase investment in this field.
According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the cooperation agreement of “national project of talent-finding, talent-training, education and empowerment of coding” was signed between Mahdi Mohammadi, secretary of the digital economy and automation technologies development headquarter, Mohammad Reza Zamani, head of Payam-e Noor University, Soleiman Pak Seresht, head of vocational training center, Amir Hossein Asadi, head of Abr-e Zendegi Accelerator, and Parviz Karami, secretary of knowledge-based economy and culture-building technologies development headquarter.
Signing of this agreement will increase synergy among units participating in the “national project of talent-finding, talent-training, education and empowerment of coding”. In addition, talent finding, education, empowerment in the field of coding and support of holding conferences, seminars and summits required for improving the knowledge level of the target society and facilitating the presence of Iranian children and adolescents in scientific and educational courses are among the topics of this agreement.
Moreover, other goals of the project include suitable benefiting of capacities, abilities and scientific, research and specialized infrastructures in the field of coding. Given the specific importance of the cyberspace in the economic, social, and cultural development of the country, finding and improving the skills and talents of children and adolescents on this path are of paramount importance, which can be facilitated by the implementation of this agreement.
Various government and private organizations participate in the implementation of this national program so that the project, that is performed by “Abr-e Zendegi” accelerator, could soon improve children and adolescents in the field of coding. Ministry of cooperation, labor and social welfare, Payam-e Noor University, the national cyberspace center, the ministry of Islamic culture and guidance and the information technology organization support this program.
According to Karami, some of the goals of this agreement are familiarization of children and adolescents with coding environment and the world of information technology, encouraging children to work in the field of information technology and helping their future businesses, developing a teamwork space in line with production of valuable products, familiarizing children and adolescents with coding space and production of digital products and identifying and attracting potential entrepreneurs.
Karami also noted that there is a shortage of programmers in the field of Internet of Things (IoT).
Advisor to the vice president for science and technology affairs expressed that one of the main tasks of the Vice-Presidency in this field is building the culture and supporting the acceleration of specialized accelerators in the field of children and adolescents.
