The Second Round of “Symposium on Imaging in Pre-Clinical Research” Will be Held

For the second time, researchers in the field of pre-clinical research will gather in the “Symposium on Imaging in Pre-Clinical Research”. However, they have the experience of attending the first round of the event this time.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the second round of “Symposium on Imaging in Pre-Clinical Research” will be held May 2nd, 2019 by the pre-clinical laboratory of Tehran University of Medical Sciences. Familiarization with the method of using pre-clinical studies and increasing the knowledge of researchers regarding the infrastructure of imaging of small animals and pre-clinical studies in line with responding to a part of research and technology needs of the country are some of the goals of the symposium.

The specialized panel with the title of “application of nanoparticles in pre-clinical imaging” will be held along with this scientific event. This symposium invites all professors and researchers, medical specialists, and specialists in fields of basic engineering and medicine sciences, dentistry and pharmacy to gather in the event and exchange their information in this field.

In terms of the importance of the event, it should be expressed that pre-clinical studies are performed to determine the safety and effectiveness of drugs and new diagnostic and treatment methods before performing clinical studies. Information obtained from these studies pave the way for entrance of drugs to the clinical stage after obtaining the necessary approvals and licenses. Therefore, holding this event and exchanging information in this field can be significantly beneficial.

To register in the event, please refer to the website of the pre-clinical laboratory of Tehran University of Medical Sciences with the address of http://tpcf.ir.

Given the importance of pre-clinical studies and lack of existence of the necessary facilities to perform this type of research, the pre-clinical laboratory was established with the support of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs to provide services in this field to the researchers using the domestically produced equipment.
