Smartening copper mines and completing related technologies with the role of knowledge-based companies

Cooperation agreements to meet the technological needs and bottlenecks of the mining, copper and steel industries was concluded with the presence of the vice president of science, technology and knowledge-based economy, the minister of industry, mining and trade and the managing directors of Mobarakeh Steel Complex, the National Copper Industries Company of Iran and the Development and Modernization Organization of Mines and Industries.

According to the communication and information center in the vice presidency of science, technology and knowledge-based economy, cooperation agreements were concluded between knowledge-based companies and subsidiary companies of the Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade in the field of intelligence, development of industrial technology and meeting the bottleneck and strategic needs of the industry.

The first cooperation agreement aimed at making mines smarter and completing related technologies with the help of knowledge-based companies was signed by Ruhollah Dehghani, Vice President of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, Abbas Aliabadi, Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade, Amir Khorami Shad, CEO of National Iran Copper Industries Company and Mohammad Reza Movasaghinia, the head of the Executive Board of the Development and Modernization of Mines and Mining Industries of Iran (IMIDRO).

Providing a platform for mutual cooperation to synergize the capacities and capabilities of knowledge-based companies and industries for the implementation of intelligentization of mines and completion of related technologies with a focus on the monitoring and dispatching system of loading and cargo fleets and emphasis on artificial intelligence and cyber security in line with the development of the market of knowledge-based companies and creating added value with the help of technology from industries is one of the main axes of this four-way cooperation agreement.

Implementation of the project of designing and setting up the intelligentization of mines and completing the related technologies with a focus on the monitoring and dispatching system of the loading and unloading fleet in the Sarcheshmeh copper mine of Kerman with the desired basic technical specifications that are included in the appendix of this agreement and in case of ensuring the progress. The cooperation of the parties in this mine will take place in large-scale and small-scale mines. According to this cooperation agreement, the large-scale Midok and Songun copper mines and the medium-scale mines of Dar-e-Hezar and Daralu will move towards intelligence and improving cyber security.

The implementation of this project will be realized in the form of forming a consortium consisting of domestic knowledge-based companies and, if necessary, using the services of a capable foreign company, with a detailed evaluation of knowledge-based companies and the introduction of the most capable knowledge-based companies by the scientific deputy to participate in the consortium.

The Vice President of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy will facilitate the issuance of legal licenses related to the Vice Presidency of Science in the form of this cooperation agreement, while helping to form and manage the call for the selection of a knowledge-based consortium and announcing the call for an international consortium and technology transfer. Supporting the implementation of knowledge-based projects or services (Article 10 "Knowledge-Based Production Leap Law") through eliminating the formalities of the law on holding tenders and providing infrastructure for laboratory and field tests based on existing criteria, among other obligations of the Vice Presidency of Science, under this cooperation agreement.

The Vice Presidency of Science is also in charge of research and development costs up to 10% and a maximum of 100 billion Rials, as well as granting a tax credit of up to 300 billion Rials from Article (11) of the "Knowledge-Based Production Leap Law" to the copper company for the implementation of the project in every mine.
