A part of the achievements of research projects approved by the cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter will be explained on the 12^th international addiction science congress (ASC2018).

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the 12^th international addiction science congress (ASC2018) will be held to evaluate the scientific and specialized activities in the research and clinical areas of addiction and creation of a constructive approach in prevention and treatment of this social phenomenon. This event will be held in Tehran, during which the achievements of research projects approved by the cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter will be explained.

This congress will be held by the Cellular and Molecular Research Center of Iran University of Medical Sciences and with the support of cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter and a number of medical, research, scientific, and executive centers of this field.

In this congress, professors, experts, scientists, researchers and those involved in science, research and specialties at the national and international levels will express their opinions and experiences regarding the latest findings on addiction from the clinical, social, legal, and basic sciences aspects, assessing the complications caused by addictive substances. 

Ekhtiari mentioned: on the 12^th annual congress of addiction science in Tehran, more than 20 specialized gatherings will be held, where researchers express their opinions about the opportunities in areas of epidemiology, prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and research in Iran and the world.

Scientific secretary of the congress expressed: in addition to more than 200 oral lectures and presenting 600 posters by national and international researchers and experts on addictive opioids, non-substance addiction disorders, such as internet addiction and computer games, will also be discussed as well.

According to Ekhtiari, eight researchers in the fields related to addiction science will come from European countries, America and Australia.

The scientific secretary of addiction science congress added: in order to appreciate the research activities of the participants in the event and proper reflection of their results, the abstracts of 100 top articles of the congress will be published in the Iranian Journal of Psychiatry.

This congress will be held in the international Razi hall of Tehran during September 5^th-7^th, 2018.
