According to Official Statistics in 2019

Nine thousand Iranian physicians and surgeons have worked in the United States

Nine thousand Iranian physicians and surgeons have worked in the United States

According to the MPI statistics in 2015, 656,000 surgeons and physicians worked in the United States, 254,000 of whom were immigrants.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs quoted by technology and innovation news headquarter, 656,000 surgeons and physicians worked in the United States in 2015, 254,000 of whom were immigrants.

In addition, 1,600,000 people worked in the field of nursing and healthcare, 489,000 of whom (23.8%) were immigrants.

According to the statistics published by Medicum Firm, an organization that recruits physicians for specialized jobs, nine thousand out of 254,000 emigrated physicians and surgeons in the United States were Iranian while 3500 and 1500 of them were Syrian and Iraqi, respectively.

According to the report, the majority of immigrant activists in the US health care sector are from countries such as India, China, the Philippines, Korea and Pakistan.

According to the national science foundation of the United States, from 2003 to 2013, there were 28,950,000 people in the engineering and science sector in the US market, of which 5,179,000 were immigrants.

Of the 5,179,000 immigrants active in science and engineering, Asia had the highest share of 2,956,000, and India (950,000), the Philippines (465,000) and China (438,000) had the largest share among Asian countries.

The other share of Asian countries in the number of engineers and scientists in the US labor market was one million 103,000 in 2013.

It is notable that the number of Iranians who have received a PhD degree in science from 1995 to 2015 is only 3,306 (NSF2018).

Therefore, according to 9,000 Iranian physicians and surgeons in the United States, the share of 1,103,000 Asian countries in the number of engineers and scientists in the US labor market is unknown. In addition, not a significant number of Iranians received temporary PhD education visas from the United States during 1995-2015. Therefore, it seems impossible that the statistics related to 250,000 engineers and physicians of Iran residing in the United States is valid.

According to a census conducted in the US in 2000, the number of Iranian-born immigrants in the country was 283,225. According to the same census, 50.9 percent of Iranian immigrants in the United States had a bachelor"s degree or higher.

In addition, in 2000, the rate of participation of Iranian immigrants in the US labor market was 63 percent, and 51.8 percent of Iranians in the US work in management and professional jobs, 27.5 percent in sales and office jobs, and 9 percent in service jobs (Shirin Hakimzadeh, 2006).

The US Census Bureau estimates the number of Iranians in the country in 2017 to 395,429. Accordingly, the total number of Iranian-educated Americans in the United States in 2017 may be about 200,000.

In addition, according to the country"s 2000 census and population estimates for 2017, the number of Iranian employees in all managerial and professional jobs can be estimated at up to 129,000.
