According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, went to University of Science and Industry to inaugurate the innovation club of this educational institution.

During this ceremony, Sattari pointed out the significant feature of startups, which is creating a sense of change in the society, expressing: creating a sense of transformation in society is one of the most important features of the startups; startups with self-confidence and courage stand on their feet even if they experience several failures. This increases hope and belief in transformation in society.

The vice president for science and technology affairs regarded innovation centers as a necessity for the flourishing of startup businesses, adding: dynamic and fast growth is a key feature of startups. These businesses rely on innovative ideas, and lack of infrastructure is not an obstacle to their improvement. Therefore, startups can even set up their business in a limited environment or home, but innovation centers have facilities such as investor attraction, interaction space, and consultation, which speeds up the flourishing pace of these businesses.

Pointing the need for culture building of knowledge-based economy and increasing community awareness of the importance of innovation, he affirmed: a unit alone cannot make this done and the whole society, especially the academics, must come to the field.

Sattari continued: the cultural and art festival of “Made in Iran” is held for the same purpose, using all areas from literature to cinema to mainstream the culture of knowledge-based economy.

In another part of the ceremony, Jabar Ali Zakeri, head of Iran University of Science and Industry, mentioned the move toward the formation of knowledge-based businesses and development of technical knowledge of industries by the university, expressing: fortunately, the development of this university was initiated in the fourth program and is in the middle of its path, properly paying attention to technologies.

He regarded the presence of 12 technical and engineering schools along with three schools of basic sciences in the university a suitable capacity for the development of creative businesses and helping industries.

A Place for the Creation of Businesses from Academic Ideas

NITRO innovation club is established by the cooperation of Iran University of Science and Industry during five months so that students of this university and other institutions could help the growing of innovative ideas.

According to its founders, the NITRO innovation club is formed so that the Iran University of Science and Industry could be turned into a science and industry pole of the country and one of the examples of entrepreneurial or third-generation universities.
