According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Amir Ali Hamidieh, secretary of stem cells sciences and technologies development headquarter, stated on the third round of the summer Olympiad camp for students of this field, expressing: the stem cells sciences and technologies development headquarter has aimed to reduce the mean age of active researchers in this field and motivate those working in this field of science.

He continued: unfortunately in Iran, people aged above 40 years consider recognizing the top researcher. Meanwhile, most of the active researchers have top ideas and projects at younger ages. Today, facing many challenges in Iran is not merely due to the manipulations from outside and might be due to lack of trust in the motivated and young human resources. 

He pointed out the importance of accountability and dedicating efforts to the development of the country, affirming: therefore, the Vice-Presidency has aimed to create new academic definitions alongside with universities, entrepreneurship centers, and accelerators.

Secretary of stem cells sciences and technologies development headquarter mentioned about the Olympiad of stem cells and regenerative medicine, which will be held by the efforts of the headquarter, expressing: this is the third round of this Olympiad and great success has been achieved during this time in a way that international steps have been taken in this Olympiad over a short duration. He also asserted: we have aimed to establish the international secretariat of this Olympiad in the country so that a suitable relationship could be made between the researchers of the country and other scholars in the world.

Hamidieh regarded the major difference between stem cells Olympiad and other Olympiads to be the implementation method, affirming: seven other scientific Olympiads have aimed to simulate their execution method.

He added: this Olympiad has aimed to institutionalize the concepts of third and fourth-generation schools. In addition, managers, teachers and all people must think about progress so that students could progress as well.

He pointed out the definition of elite and cited a quotation from Pasteur, expressing: Pasteur says: “instead of asking what France has done for me, I ask myself what have I done for France?”. Therefore, we can hope that one day our professors would ask the same thing from themselves.
