Holding Olympiads Lays the Groundwork for Moving toward Advanced Sciences and Technologies

Secretary of the student Olympiad of stem cells and tissue engineering announced the successful holding of the “first student Olympiad of stem cells and tissue engineering” simultaneously performed with other Olympiads of the country on July 19th-20th, 2018.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Ehsan Arefian, manager of education, research and human resources development of the stem cells sciences and technologies development headquarter, stated about the Olympiad: the first interdisciplinary Olympiad of stem cells and regenerative medicine was held for the first time in the country and the world by the efforts of the national testing organization and with the financial and spiritual support of stem cells sciences and technologies development headquarter.

Arefian continued: according to the plan of the national testing organization, the winners of the first stage of the scientific Olympiads held in 10 regions of the country will compete on the final stage along with the winners of the centralized university examination in fields related to this area.

Secretary of the student Olympiad of stem cells and tissue engineering also announced the provision of facilities for the winners of this Olympiad.

He continued: in addition, the necessary coordination has been made between the national testing organization and stem cells sciences and technologies development headquarter for higher education of the winners of the Olympiad at MSc level in mother universities that accept these students.

In the end, he emphasized: this field of Olympiad can pave the way for achieving advanced technology and science in the country due to being an interdisciplinary field and having major applications in medical sciences.
