Focus on Azadi Innovation Factory on the Fight Against Corona

Various units affiliated to the Vice-Presidency, including knowledge-based companies and all components of the ecosystem, have allocated a considerable part of their capacities to the implementation of novel programs of the Vice-Presidency in the fight against coronavirus. One of these units is Azadi Innovation Factory.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, since the outbreak of coronavirus, the Vice-Presidency has initiated nationwide movements such as #we_will_beat_coronavirus and #coronaplus to centralize the scattered efforts in the field by structured programs. To date, several contracts have been concluded to produce equipment required to fight the disease, such as ventilators, mask production lines, disinfectants, non-contact thermometer and home oxygenators.

Some of the products offered by knowledge-based, creative and eco-friendly technology companies in this field are dedicated to the production of software, applications and online event holding systems. These products play an important role in informing the public as well as implementing smart social distance plans.

A Platform to Stay Home and Contribute to Screening

Azadi Innovation Factory has motivated accelerators and startups based in the factory to join the battle against corona based on the technology-based programs of the Vice-Presidency.

As the sole health and medicine accelerator in Azadi Innovation Factory, the KARA e-Health Accelerator initiated its activities in this field by relying on its startup teams. According to Hesam Sardarloo, the deputy CEO of the accelerator, more than 15 million and 113,200 people have used the services of the startups in the accelerators from March 5th to April 3rd, 2020. In addition, three billion Rials of free services have been provided to the users.

The “Doctor Checkup” platform is one of the productions of the accelerators, which is related to in-home tests and has led to the screening of a major part of the society by receiving samples from people at home and delivering them to labs approved by the ministry of health. The platform has also prevented overcrowd labs to take corona tests.
