According to the Communication and Information Center in the Vice Presidency of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, the first meeting to review progress and recognize the pioneers of the knowledge-based ecosystem was held today at the Iranian Broadcasting Corporation International Conference Center, with the presence of Hossein Afshin, Vice President of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy. In his speech at the meeting, Afshin said: “This is one of the issues of concern to the 14th government because having information helps us make better and more efficient decisions.”

According to him, one of the country's problems in international indicators is "financing" because traditional financing methods cannot keep the ecosystem dynamic. Therefore, we have on our agenda the use of new financing methods.

The Vice President of Science also addressed the visit of the Eurasian Prime Ministers to the Iranian House of Technology and Innovation and emphasized: "The team was amazed by the level and quality of Iranian knowledge-based products, and after this visit, each of them submitted a purchase list and order." Afshin stated that this confidence in Iranian knowledge-based products should also be reflected in the knowledge-based companies themselves, adding: "In addition to this self-confidence, knowledge-based companies should also pay special attention to the industrial design of their products because quality alone, despite its high importance, is not enough, and a product must also be presented in an elegant appearance." Another issue that was not overlooked by the Vice Presidency of Science was the protection of the knowledge-based brand, and he emphasized in this regard: "Our view at the Vice Presidency of Science is the "flow" of knowledge-based technology, not necessarily the knowledge-based product. If a product reaches the level of general technology in society, it will be removed from the knowledge-based circle. Accordingly, in addition to birth and growth, we also believe in decline in the knowledge-based ecosystem."

Afshin, while pointing out that the government should be supportive, insuring, and patient, stated: "Our effort in the Vice Presidency of Science is to play this role, and therefore, we should invest in risky projects and support the spirit of innovation and creativity." The Vice Presidency of Science continued: "Our effort is to shorten administrative bureaucracy, and in this regard, we are trying to determine the status of 2000 projects that have been pending in the service system since 2023 and reduce them to zero by the end of the year." According to Afshin, we must be a leader in smart services and make the mechanism agile because the Scientific Vice Presidency of the private sector is considered agile within the government body.

In another part of his speech, he focused on the details of the Vice Presidency's budget and said: "The budget is insignificant compared to what it should be, but our effort is to increase this amount with the consideration of Dr. Pezeshkian, and evidence of this claim is the increase in the budget of the Innovation and Prosperity Fund from ten to fifty Hemats, and we also add new methods of financing to the ecosystem of science and technology, because our entire mission in the Vice Presidency of Science is to invest in the future. The key point of Afshin's speech, however, was his firm statement of opposition to the symmetrical distribution of support in the country. In explaining his position, he said: "We in the Vice Presidency of Science support running, and our criterion is not time and place. Therefore, any province that has activity, ideas, and running will be included in our support list." He continued: "Our program in Iran, the 13th construction, is also based on the same approach, and if a knowledge-based product with the same characteristics is presented, it will be reduced from its support level."

It is worth noting that the knowledge-based virtual ecosystem monitoring and surveillance system was unveiled at this summit in the presence of the Vice President of Science.
