According to the agreement made between the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs and the national standard organization, knowledge-based companies can receive the certificate of conformity (COC) (matching product performance features based on a national or international standard) or certificate of production (matching performance characteristics stated with test results) in addition to receiving conventional standard certificates henceforth. These certificates will be primarily issued in Tehran province by the General Directorate of Tehran Province and will soon be provided in other provinces. The validity of issued certificates is equivalent to the national standard license, and all fees associated with the certification are free, with the exception of the test cost.
