Important Duties:

  • Designing and developing strategic policies for the development of the country's innovation system and strategic monitoring of the implementation of these policies
  • Establishing appropriate laws and regulations for the development of science, technology and innovation in the form of five-year development plans, budget laws, and proposing various laws and regulations on science and technology to the government and regulating relevant regulations
  • Providing strategic and support policies to develop the infrastructures of the country's innovation system and networking activities in this area
  • Establishing coordination in the formulation of ultra-sectoral policies among the planning and implementation institutions of the country's science, technology and innovation programs
  • Actively participating in updating, completing and implementing the comprehensive scientific map of the country and other upstream documents related to the mission of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs
  • Observing, monitoring, and forecasting of science and technology and innovation and market needs
  • Policy-making and guiding to design and deploy a comprehensive intellectual property system in the country to support theory-making, knowledge and technology production, and its dissemination and commercialization
  • Continuously assessing the national innovation system and macro policies of science and technology of the country
  • Strategically assessing the sectoral (SIS), regional (RIS) and technological (TIS) innovation schemes
