Knowledge-based Economy, Fruit of Economy of Resistance

Necessity of changing the economic paradigm

Necessity of changing the economic paradigm

There is no miracle involved. Science and wisdom create a new world and make a dream come true. Making a new world does not require miracles, but it rather needs knowledge and innovation along with thinking about the future.

Economy based on culture, science and technology will organize our lives. Economy is like sugar, which relishes one’s taste if taken with other things, but it makes you sick if used alone.

Now that spring is here and everything is beautiful once more, we started this year as the year of economy of resistance, production and employment. People have new wishes to obtain and each of us have a colorful picture about our future. Over the past years, we have been successfully improved science and technology and accelerate the pace of enhancement in this regard. At first, completion of the cycle of technology commercialization and wealth creation from science was a strategic recommendation and was just an idea. Then, it was turned into a regular plan. “Action and Implementation” were taken into consideration and people’s wills were crystalized. In addition, the importance of knowledge-based economy was recognized by experts of this area.

Presence of more than three thousand knowledge-based companies and a waiting list longer than six thousand applicants to shift to knowledge-based company have led to improved entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country with an accelerated pace.

Management of the Supreme Leader of Iran has now come to fruition: “this movement is now started. I had understood this fact, the fact that our country requires this type of mechanism and movement, and discussed its aspects from 15 years ago, mainly covering the topic of science and software movement. While it has been significantly welcomed by students, professors, universities and many government sectors, this movement is faced with many difficult challenges which have to be eliminated to be successful.” (statements, January 17th 2017)

These barriers are being eliminated one by one. The society of science and technology has aimed to act in this regard and there are great hopes to destruct all of the obstacles in this area in the new year.

Everything that has been achieved in Iran in the field of science and technology has a sign of the holy flag of Islamic Iran. Earning first ranks in the world is not a slogan and there has been no miracles to achieve them. Perseverance, faith, creativity and “We Can” helped us to move things forward. Now we have a reputable status in the region and we are counted in the world, which cannot be easily passed. However, the most important topic of today is to turn patents and ideas into products and improve their markets, as well as more attention to our knowledge-based companies to extend our path to success.

A few years ago, one of the major concerns of experts in the fields of culture, science and technology was establishing knowledge-based economy and technology-related businesses, which could be turned into just slogans and a luxury topic. Now, the statistics provided by international citation databases clearly indicate that we have had many progresses in this area.

In line with the growth of knowledge-based companies, the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, which is the major organization that follows up the improvement in the ecosystem of technology and innovation, has taken significant steps toward culture building and promoting this ecosystem. We observe growth and development in this regard. One of the most pleasant facts in this regard is that there is a knowledge-based perspective in universities and science and technology institutions, which cannot be removed.

The knowledge-based economy is a promising and innovative economy, which bears no obstacles in the path of its success. There is a bright future for this concept in Iran. The knowledge-based economy that is faced by our youth has created a system that will tolerate no halt or change and only moves toward development and growth. The top individuals will go up and those who are more creative will be able to turn their ideas into products and send them to the markets.

On the other hand, the importance of knowledge-based economy for development of vital plans of the economy of resistance is confirmed. We have previously stated that the economy of resistance is not a choice but a necessity. All of those who are familiar with economic-political concepts agree that the only thing that can strengthen the economy of Iran in this current situations is changing the economic paradigm of the country. We have to move away from resource-based economy and its income and move toward economy of resistance, production and employment. In this economic paradigm, knowledge-based economy could have a unique meaning and role.

Fortunately, many arrangements provided have been provided for the economy of resistance. The only problem for lack of accelerated growth in our economy is not an economic subject or political will, but a cultural issue. Culture building for knowledge-based economy is a knowledge-based matter, which simultaneously involves creativity and scientific and artistic vitality. This act can both be stated and emphasized for economy of resistance.

In fact, culture building will lead to positive results only when we can appropriately understand our society and learn about its taste and requirements. We have to pay attention to modern tools of culture building and promoting and recognize our competitors. We just need to teach the necessary issues to people with an appropriate language and raise their awareness about what we have now and could be. Successful culture building about knowledge-based economy can be implemented and lead to great results.

I sincerely congratulate the new year to all the reader of “Knowledge-based” monthly journal and officials in the field of science and technology. I hope that we are able to achieve an innovative and technological ecosystem in our dear country as soon as possible with the help of God. Amen.
