With the support of marine knowledge-based industries and technologies development headquarter, the ROV student submarine robot competitions will be held October 23rd-25th, 2018 along with the fourth round of the national festival of “Sea, the Path of Progress”.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Hatam Ghasemzadeh, secretary of student submarine robot competition, pointed out the increasing importance of using technology of these robots in a marine environment, expressing: the submarine robot controlled by the operator exist to function in underwater areas, where there is life danger for people or divers are unable to penetrate into the deep areas. These robots are designed for extreme depth of oceans. With regard to the presence of large oil industries and long beaches in the north and south of the country, there is a proper space for activities of marine knowledge-based complexes in these sections, which is recognized as a proper environment for entrepreneurship of researchers with regard to encouraging and supportive policies.

Secretary of underwater robot competition of the fourth national festival of “Sea, the Path of Progress” affirmed: the underwater robots competition will be held with the goal of promoting the knowledge of underwater robotic in universities and research centers of the country by the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs and with the support of the Islamic Azad University of Qazvin.

He also emphasized the framework of holding the competition on the fourth national festival of “Sea, the Path of Progress”, asserting: with regard to several years of experience on holding competitions, the rules of the competition have been modified to some extent so that teams could participate in the competition with lower costs. Moreover, the site of competitions in the marine headquarter of Iran has been updated and is prepared for online registration of competing teams.

Ghasemzadeh continued: the regulations on holding the ROV competitions is available for the competitors on the website to cover the technical features of robots and assessed items. With regard to the final exams of universities, the final registration for the event is extended to August 23rd 2018.
