Secretary of biotechnology development headquarter announced the approval of the national standards for bio-fuels.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Mostafa Ghanei, secretary of biotechnology development headquarter, pointed out the approval of the national standards for bio-fuels in the country, stating: the necessary national standards are mapped and approved in the national standard organization of Iran and are provided for the public.

He added: technologies related to the production of different bio-fuels (e.g., ethanol, gasoline, bio-diesel and bio-gas) will be developed in the country.

According to Ghanei, a significant number of knowledge-based companies has been activated in this area, abilities of which must be fully exploited.

He also asserted: compared to fossil energy carriers, bio fuels produce less pollutants.
