The growing development of rail and subway technologies is indicative of domestic capabilities.

The growing development of rail and subway technologies is indicative of domestic capabilities.

On the ceremony for signing a joint cooperation agreement on developing the product of an eight-wagon subway Ram for Tehran subway lines, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, stated: localization of the technology related to train wagons has increased from 33% to 85%, which demonstrates the ability of the domestic workforce.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, another Iranian-made product will be provided to the society and the country over signing an agreement. This product is a sign of the power and dignity of the domestic creative workforce. This morning, a cooperation agreement was signed to develop the product of an eight-wagon subway rail, including locomotive, wagons, rail, station and other equipment, for subway lines of Tehran in the presence of Sorena Sattari and Pirouz Hanachi, the mayor of Tehran, and with the financial support of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs. Concluding this contract on the year of production boom by the formation of a consortium encompassing knowledge-based companies, the Vice-Presidency for science and technology park, municipality of Tehran, and Iran national innovation fund, is another step taken toward development.
During the event, Sattari expressed: again, we witness a valuable event in the field of technology with the use of domestic capacities. Development and advancement in the subway transmission field are what we witness today, in a way that the domestication of technology related to train wagons has increased from 33% to 85%, which demonstrates the capability of the domestic workforce.

The vice president for science and technology continued: all knowledge capacity, such as knowledge-based companies, Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research, and Iran national innovation fund, will be used by signing this contract. However, this agreement is signed in line with another agreement signed between the municipality of Tehran and the Vice-Presidency last year. This event is one of the steps of the agreement, and other projects will be implemented based on this agreement in other transportation fields.

In addition, Pirouz Hanachi, the mayor of Tehran, expressed: in a year known as the production boom, signing of this contract is another attempt to maximize domestic facilities. Currently, more than two million city trips are taking place in Tehran, and the target is to reach six million trips. Therefore, to meet this goal, a higher number of wagons must be built in Iran.

Hanachi continued: this contract lays the foundation for the localization of domestic production wagons for subway lines and facilitates the positive outcome of that cooperation path in this area.

Parviz Karami, the head of the information and communications center of the Vice-Presidency, mentioned in the ceremony:

In the contract, a subway train will be installed on the country rails within 18 months. The Memorandum of Understanding to build 420 wagons will also be signed in the next three months and will be guaranteed to benefit from this knowledge. The agreement represents a practical counteraction to the cruel US sanctions. The knowledge-based companies and sponsors of this consortium will give practical responses to the cruel US-Western sanctions to boycott the needs of the Iranian people in various fields of science, space, and medicine.

In this ceremony, the agreements were signed by Ali Emam, the CEO of Tehran subway, Ali Vahdat, head of the Iran national innovation fund, Khodaei, CEO of Mapna locomotives, Mohammad Emam, CEO of Tehran metro and suburban trains company (metro), Hamidreza Tayebi, head of the Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research, Mohsen Pour Saeed Aghaei, deputy of transportation of urban traffics, Esmaeil Ghaderifar, head of the strategic technologies development headquarter, and Manouchehr Manteghi, the chairman of the national space and advanced transportation administration.
