According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, expressed among a number of entrepreneurs and technologists based in the science and technology park of Kurdistan: the capacity of the province in the area of knowledge-based economy and entrepreneurship will be flourished with the emergence of a new generation of entrepreneurs who are mostly below the age of 30.
The president of the national elites foundation introduced the environment of Kurdistan as one of the necessities for development of new businesses, asserting: one of the basic foundations of knowledge-based economy is the focus on environmental issues, and young entrepreneurs of the new generation must prevent the destruction of the environment and find creative solutions and create added-value for solving the problems of the province.
Sattari mentioned that the infrastructural supports of developing the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Kurdistan with a faster pace, adding: there is a good capacity in Kurdistan, such as businesses based on information and communications technology, agriculture and medical plants, and we will support these capacities to develop creative businesses.
He reminded the development of creative businesses as the new line of support by the Vice-Presidency, adding: in line with the support of businesses that are able to creative added value but are not considered as knowledge-based companies, we have put the support of creative businesses on the agenda and have provided the condition for activity of the research fund of the province to improve the development of these enterprises.
Decrease of the Distance between Creative Ideas of the Youth and Creation of Added-value
The vice president for science and technology affairs met Ayatollah Seyed Mohammad Hosseini Shahroudi, the representative of the Supreme Leader in Kurdistan province as his first program of the travel to this province.
In this meeting, Sattari presented a report on the achievements of the Vice-Presidency in the area of developing the entrepreneurial ecosystem, expressing development of the entrepreneurship ecosystem of the creative youth has been the priority of the Vice-Presidency in the past few years. In line with efforts put into the facilitation of formation of this space, it is aimed to reduce the distance between ideas and innovations presented by the creative and educated youth so that their ideas could be turned into occupations and added value.
The president of the knowledge-based economy and culture-building technologies development headquarter emphasized the necessity of synergy and efforts of all units and effective individuals in the province to create the relevant culture and promote this ecosystem and support the young and creative entrepreneurs.
Meeting with the Family of Kurd Elites and Mathematicians
The president of the national elites foundation also met with the family of Fereydoon Derakhshani (Caucher Birkar), the elite mathematician of Kurdistan.
In this meeting, Sattari pointed out the support of Iranian elites by the national elites foundation and announced the formation of the foundation for activity of elites to promote science and provide the opportunity for training other top talents in the country.
Caucher Birkar is a Kurd mathematician and professor at Cambridge University who was the second Iranian who was able to achieve the Fields Prize, which is the most important global prize in this field.
Inauguration of the Building of the Elites Foundation of Kurdistan
The vice president for science and technology affairs inaugurated the elites foundation building of Kurdistan, accompanied by the governor of the province, head of the science and technology park, and the president of the elites foundation of Kurdistan.
Ahmadzadeh building has an area of 800 m2 and four stories.
During the previous travel of the vice president for science and technology affairs to Kurdistan in 2015, allocation of a building to the elites foundation of Kurdistan was approved, which was inaugurated in this travel of Sattari after being prepared and equipped.
The first floor of this building is a museum and exhibition to introduce the elites of Kurdistan. Other floors are provided for elites to increase synergy, hold scientific meetings, and be able to create new ideas.
Visit and Inauguration of the Innovation Center of Kurdistan
The vice president for science and technology affairs inaugurated the innovation center of Kurdistan University in another part of this one-day travel. In addition, the capacities of this university for developing the technology and locating of innovative units were assessed during a visit.
