According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the ceremony for signing a cooperation agreement in the area of establishing and developing an accelerator and venture capital fund was held in the presence of Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, Mahdi Faghihi, secretary of ICT and cyberspace development headquarter, Mahmoud Nili Ahmadabadi, head of University of Tehran, Alireza Ghalambor Dezfuli, CEO of Irancell, and Alireza Daliri, deputy for management and resources development headquarter.

In this meeting, Sorena Sattari, pointed out the use of space created for growth of startup companies, adding that the fast growth and success of this type of companies is predictable.

Sattari added: venture capital funds are among the necessities for advancement of the country. Therefore, a major part of investments in the country must be carried out by these funds to realize the goals in the area of financial supply.

Mahdi Faghihi, secretary of ICT and cyberspace development headquarter, talked about the necessity of establishing the infrastructures for moving of academics toward occupation based on innovation and technical ability, expressing: this joint agreement uses the capacities of Irancell company and University of Tehran to recognize, select, grow and develop knowledge-based companies and startups with prepared projects or products that have a high growth potential. In this regard, the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs will help forming the necessary infrastructures to realize knowledge-based economy in the country.

Alireza Ghalambar Dezfuli, CEO of Irancell, expressed his content with signing of this agreement for establishing and developing an accelerator and venture capital fund and talked about the measures taken by Irancell in this center. Moreover, he expressed that the efforts by the institutes under the mentioned agreement will lead to the expansion of business space in this field.

According to this cooperation agreement, Irancell will create and equip the physical space for the accelerator and will supply the infrastructures for activities of the accelerator.

In addition, using the abilities of companies and the knowledge and products manufactured in the innovation center, financial support of startup companies and teams based in the accelerator and joint investment in establishment of the venture capital fund are among the other measures taken by Irancell.

The University of Tehran will allocate an area of 3000 m in its technical Pardis to the establishment of the innovation center and will help establish the accelerator and venture capital fund, laying the foundation for the formation and scientific and technological growth of startups of active companies in the center.
