According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the second B2B meeting of Iran is being held in Georgia with the aim of creating commercial relations between Iranian and Georgian knowledge-based companies. This event is being carried out August 8th-9th, 2018 in the presence of representatives from 50 knowledge-based companies along with the Iranian delegation. On the first day of the event, the Iranian and Georgian companies attended a meeting to answer the questions of each other.

Along with the travel of an Iranian delegation to Georgia, Alireza Daliri, deputy for management development and resources, visited the startups based in the techno park of Georgia along with the head of the park and head of innovation agency of Georgia and the Iranian knowledge-based companies.

The Techno Park of Georgia has been established since 2016, and currently there are more than 200 startups in the park working in all areas of science and technology. This is a free space for business in Georgia.

In line with the travel of the Iranian delegation to Georgia, the deputy for management development and resources met with Giorgi Cherkezishvili, deputy minister of economy and sustainable development-investment agency of Georgia, Khidoverli, head of the agency of innovation and technology, and Khizanishvili, deputy minister of education, science, culture and sports of Georgia. During this visit, the attendees discussed the methods of interactions between Iranian knowledge-based companies and Georgian startups and the necessary measures were taken. In addition, a bilateral meeting was carried out with the head of investment agency of Georgia.

During the bilateral meeting, Daliri mentioned: there are mutual capacities between Iran and Georgia. Presence of knowledge-based companies in these meetings is to fill this capacity. Therefore, we hope that a better investment foundation be provided in this regard.

He continued: most technology puzzles have been formed in Iran and have accelerated the pace of activities of startups. Given the high capacity and growth of human resources in Iran, the possibility of interaction with neighboring countries in the area of startups is considered. Presence of pioneering companies in new technologies can enhance this foundation.

Daliri continued: today, the Iranian companies visited the Techno Park of Georgia, which was recognized as a proper foundation for cooperation and activities after meeting with the managers of the park. However, some unclear notions have remained to be solved with Georgia.

It is notable that the companies travelling to Georgia are those with export abilities. The perspective of product export is to have the possibility of joint cooperation with Georgian companies.
