The First Place of Iran among the Regional Countries in the Area of Cognitive Sciences

 

The development and growth of knowledge of cognitive sciences in our country has been remarkable in recent years, and Iran is in the first place in the region in some areas of this new and intermediate science, including artificial intelligence.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Mohammad Taghi Joghataei expressed on the first international forum of “neuro-technology” and “brain-mapping”, which was opened by the support of the cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter in Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, asserting: extensive planning has been made to promote the knowledge of cognitive sciences in the country. In addition, several efforts have been made to develop this interdisciplinary knowledge in educational and specialized spaces.

The senior member of the cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter regarded the use of cognitive technologies and neuro-technologies to provide scientific and research solutions in treatment of some diseases to be positive, asserting: in the modern world, cognitive technologies and their development is of paramount importance. These tools are applied to detect and treat diseases from one side and increase the brain abilities and improve the brain health of individuals from the other hand.

He announced that the headquarter will support the development of these technologies by academic researchers and knowledge-based companies.

In this international forum, experts and researchers shared their latest scientific findings on brain structure, brain cognitive map, computational neuroscience, deep brain stimulation systems, electrophysiology, neurological rehabilitation and the prospect of implantation of the nervous system, as well as the latest clinical and research perspectives on neurotransmitter diseases.

The international neuroscience forum of neuro-technology and brain-mapping was ended on October 24th 2018 after three years of scientific discussions by the neuroscience research center of Shiraz and with the cooperation cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter and the national brain-mapping center and a number of institutes and centers.
