The 11th Nanotechnology Exhibition Will Be Active with an Industrialization and Commercialization Approach

The 11th Nanotechnology Exhibition Will Be Active with an Industrialization and Commercialization Approach

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Saeed Sarkar, secretary of nanotechnology development headquarter, stated on the news conference of the 11th nanotechnology exhibition: this event will initiated on October 13th 2018 and will be finished on October 16th 2018.

Sarkar pointed out the emphasis on the 10-year vision plan in the nanotechnology area, expressing: the goals of this document include the promotion of nanotechnology, development of human resources and educational, research and technology developing activities, and providing the necessary infrastructures (i.e., laboratories and corridors for interaction with the market) to develop nanotechnology.

He continued: in the first 10-year vision plan, our plan was to prepare the condition for industrial development and commercialization in terms of soft and hard infrastructures. However, the second 10-year program is more focused on industrialization and commercialization. Moreover, special attention has been paid to the development of export of products based on nanotechnology.

Sarkar also asserted: however, entering the global areas requires specific equipment. In this regard, culture building is needed, and most importantly, the world must accept the fact that Iran is a pioneer in the area of advanced technologies (e.g., nanotechnology) and has reliable products in this field.

Sarkar pointed out that to date, 10 rounds of the nanotechnology exhibition have been held, continuing: from this year, we will more focus on the topics of industrialization and commercialization as the main priorities of the field.

According to Sarkar, the audiences of the 11th nanotechnology exhibition are activists in the fields of building, textile, automotive, and water and environment, who can learn about the latest achievements in the field of nano by attending the exhibition. These individuals will also learn about the nanotechnology capacities and level of use of this technology in order to improve the quality of their products.

Sarkar reminded another goal of the event to be the development of the market, affirming: our priority is industrial and market development with a special focus on development of exports. Therefore, commercialization delegations from various countries will attend the event.

He also marked: a 12-member delegation from South Korea will also attend the event. Moreover, delegations from Malaysia, Indonesia, Ecuador, Armenia, Oman and other countries will be the guests of the 11th nanotechnology exhibition. As such, we will hold about 40 foreign guests.

The secretary of nanotechnology development headquarter expressed his hope that the delegations would learn about the nanotechnology capacities of Iran and believe it, which could lead to an increasing growth in this field.

He also expressed his content with the programs planned in the nanotechnology area of the country to this date, stating: in line with the development of the market for nanotechnology products, offices have been established in countries of China, Malaysia, and Iraq. Without a doubt, these offices will increase the sale of technical knowledge, attraction of foreign investments, and cooperative projects.

Sarkar also mentioned that today, nanotechnology products are exported to about 40 countries, asserting: our target is countries with high populations since when we have the capacity to have significant cooperation with China, we will be able to have good markets in other countries such as Indonesia, India, and Mexico.

The 11th round of nanotechnology exhibition will be held October 13th-16th, 2018 at the location of the permanent international exhibitions of Tehran.

From 114 booths available in the exhibition this year, two booths are assigned to foreign companies. From the remaining booths, 74 booths are assigned to production and service companies and others are dedicated to universities, laboratories, research centers and growth centers of the country and different units of nanotechnology development headquarter. Moreover, the nanotechnology development headquarter has received a counter in one of its booths with the title of “Nano March” to introduce technologies to investors.

In addition, 23 industrial projects along with six top projects in the Nano Challenge Program will be present in the booth of the working group of industry and market. Moreover, 15 educational workshops will be held during the exhibition.

In parallel with the exhibition, six specialized nanotechnology product commercialization meetings will be held in various areas, including textile, automotive, water and wastewater, paint and resin, coverage, cosmetics and medicine.
