During a joint meeting between media authorities and stakeholders and sponsors of “Royazi 2” in the presence of experts of the event, the participants described the goals of the event in the animation field.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the joint meeting between media authorities and stakeholders and sponsors of “Royazi 2” was held December 11^th, 2019 in the presence of Parviz Karami, the secretary of knowledge-based economy and culture-building technologies development headquarter, Seyed Mohammad Hossein Sajadi Nayeri, the secretary of soft and identity-making technologies development headquarter, Ehsan Kave, the manager of Art, Animation, and Tv Center.

The managers of the event expressed their goals and approaches in the animation field and answered the questions of media owners.

In the beginning of the meeting, Karami stated: I am glad that we have this meeting with the media to talk about “Royazi 2” event as another work of the Vice-Presidency to develop the ecosystem of knowledge-based economy. At the macro level, the Vice-Presidency began its serious work to consolidate the discourse of science and technology and to form a knowledge-based economy in society from six years ago. These activities were carried out based on the statements of the Supreme Leader to establish knowledge-based economy and pay attention to an economy that is based on the creation of wealth from science and implementation of the law to support knowledge-based companies approved by the Islamic consultative assembly.

Ecosystem Development

Karami added: the prerequisite for these activities to be productive was the formation and development of an ecosystem to achieve the goal of knowledge-based economics. At the beginning of the country"s innovation ecosystem formation, various components, including universities and science centers, began their efforts to form science and technology parks to transform science into the final product. However, other essential components of this ecosystem have been ignored, and monetary and financial institutions specializing in venture capital are among the essential components that can provide the capital needed instead of government funding.

A Small Share of Scientific Global Basket and Specialization of Animation

The advisor to the vice president for science and technology affairs pointed out the activities performed in the field of creative and cultural industries, stating: in line with these activities, the soft and identity-making technologies development headquarter provides the preliminaries for holding “Royazi 2” along with paying attention to creative and cultural industries and development of the ecosystem. This event is intended primarily to scientifically and economically animate production in the country.

Determining roles

The president of the information center of the Vice-Presidency pointed out the defects existing on the path of the formation of a dynamic economy based on animation production, asserting: “Royazi Event” aimed to find these problems and wants the society to know that an artist can also market and sell his product.

Karami pointed out the necessities of development of discussions on the secondary animation art market, especially marketing in this field, expressing: due to these shortages, our friends in the soft and identity-making technologies development headquarter have attempted to work on merchandising in the animation field.

In fact, the industry"s side market is just as important as the artistic aspects of animated production, and can help the ecosystem grow in character and shelf life.

Monetization of Animations

Seyed Mohammad Hossein Sajadi Nayeri described the approaches adopted by the headquarter to better hold the “Royazi 2” event, asserting: 60 billion Tomans animation turnover in the country has a considerable distance from the 250 billion Dollars turnover of the industry in the world. Given the depth of art and friendliness in Iran, there is the potential for animation and craft to have a different status from what it is today. As mentioned by the secretary of the knowledge-based economy and culture-building technologies development headquarter, Royazi seeks to produce animations based on science and economy.

The “Royazi 2” event will be held December 16^th-17^th, 2019 at the location of Iran national science foundation.
