Technology Tower of Hormuz Island is opened

 

Technology Tower of Hormuz Island is opened in the presence of the vice president for science and technology affairs, aiming at developing technological businesses and local startups of the province.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, entered Hormozgan province and was welcomed by the governor and high-ranking authorities of the province to open the Technology Tower of Hormuz Island, visit knowledge-based companies of the region, and attend the meeting on production improvement and knowledge-based economy.

During this trip, the vice president for science and technology affairs will open the Technology Tower of Hormuz Island. The construction of the center was started in 2017 with the goal of creating a physical space for technologists, innovators, and knowledge-based companies of the province and an innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in the province with the support of the Vice-Presidency. The tower has nine floors, including a laboratory and workshop space, a joint workspace for startups, and some floors allocated to companies of growth centers and active research and development offices.

Visiting Knowledge-based Companies

The vice president for science and technology affairs will visit nine knowledge-based companies in the province. In addition to unveiling the knowledge-based products of companies based in Hormozgan University, Sattari will visit the workshops of the companies and will talk to technologists in a friendly environment. These companies will work in different areas, such as medical health field, laboratory equipment and biotechnology.

Currently, there are 52 companies in the science and technology park of Hormozgan province, 20 of which are developed and prepared to enter the commercial market. These companies have earned more than 16 billion tomans by the middle of 2018, and $6500 has been the export share of these businesses.

Sattari and his accompanied delegation will visit the building of Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences and will visit the technological achievements based in the center. Technology activists from the Green Nature Knowledge Foundation will also present their latest achievements to the vice president for science and technology affairs.
