Support of doctoral dissertations must be recognized as a way to guide the studies of young researchers to meet the needs of the country.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, supporting the creative workforce of the country is a way to develop science and technology. Every year, many studies are conducted by researchers in the country. In this regard, support of doctoral dissertations can help researchers meet the needs of the country.

In fact, support of research projects of young researchers somehow empowers young PhD candidates to perform studies.

In addition, encouraging and helping the PhD students will guild them to conduct research on the boundaries of knowledge and its effectiveness in society. In this respect, the Iranian national science foundation has put the support of doctoral dissertations on its agenda. Therefore, a support call is published by the foundation every year, including the current year that included the fourth call for support of PhD candidates so that the foundation is laid for this type of support more than before. It is notable that this support will be in the framework of research priorities of the country with the goal of using the capacities of PhD students and creating competition among applicants of science centers of the country in order to help the development of science and technology.

According to this report, each PhD dissertation will be supported for up to 30 million tomans. In this regard, 103, 160, and 197 dissertations have been supported in the first, second, and third calls, respectively.
