The specialized panel of stem cells sciences for the 20^th national congress and 8^th international congress of biotechnology was held in the presence of secretary of stem cells sciences and technologies development headquarter in the Ohadi Hall of University of Maragheh.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Amir Ali Hamidieh, secretary of stem cells sciences and technologies development headquarter, explained about the new technologies and knowledge border in the area of stem cells and regenerative medicine on the specialized panel of stem cells sciences held along with the 20^th national congress and eighth international congress of biotechnology of Iran.

He expressed: first, scientists and physicians used different types of non-manipulated stem cells and somatic cells for treatment of various diseases. This area has grown over the past 50 years. However, we need experts who can manage and improve cells in order to treat incurable and congenital diseases.

Secretary of stem cells sciences and technologies development headquarter reminded: Iran has been able to acquire the first rank among regional countries and the fourth rank in the world in terms of production of articles and domestication of stem cells sciences. In this regard, he added: today, more than one thousand faculty members and students are active in research and educational projects in this field.

Hamidieh also affirmed: 70 domestic knowledge-based companies have been established to commercialize the science of stem cells and turn science into wealth.

He continued: we are following up the activation of an accelerator for knowledge-based companies to develop and commercialize this science in the form of the stem cells project.

Moreover, he asserted: in terms of the commercialization of this science, many investors have announced their preparedness for support of various projects of this field.
