Signing a Cooperation Agreement for Support of 170 Research Projects

Nosratollah Zargham, head of the Iranian national science foundation, and Mohammad Haji Agha Jani, head of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, signed a joint cooperation agreement to support 170 research projects.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, a cooperation agreement is signed between the Iranian national science foundation and Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. According to this agreement, 100 research projects of faculty members, 30 postdoctoral projects, 30 PhD theses, and 10 international patent registrations will be carried out by the foundation. During the meeting for signing this agreement, Mohammad Haji Agha Jani presented a report on the activities of the university, pointing out the activities of 57 knowledge-based companies and four growth centers.

In addition, Nosratollah Zargham pointed out the activities of the foundation, asserting: support of researchers in the country through providing research seats, grants and support of their research projects are among the measures taken by the foundation in line with the science and technology development in the country. In this regard, the foundation has determined three areas of activities for itself.

According to Zargham, the main areas of activities of the foundation include the support of research, technology, and innovation, helping the development and strengthening of the science, technology and innovation infrastructures of the country and helping the development of transformative studies.

In terms of evaluation of delivered projects, he declared: the method of evaluation of research projects has been corrected and improved, in a way that the research project assessment framework of the foundation is the same as the evaluation principles of the global research council in 2018.
