According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Mohammad Taghi Joghataei, senior advisor to the cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter expressed in the first cognitive rehabilitation symposium: causes such as increased life expectancy, change of pattern of diseases from contagious to non-contagious, change of lifestyle and survival of weak neonates require cognitive rehabilitation services in the society.

Joghtaei pointed out that rehabilitation means returning a person to the society by providing services. In this regard, he affirmed: rehabilitation services are like a continuous and inseparable chain of health and welfare, and cognitive rehabilitation services must be institutionalized in the healthcare system like a joint circle.

He talked about the activities and preparedness of the cognitive sciences headquarter about the support of implementation of rehabilitation projects, adding: cognitive rehabilitation services must be taken into account to increase brain abilities and treat cognitive disorders. By doing so, cognitive rehabilitation will effectively treat cognitive disorders in the society.

Advisor to the minister of health announced the preparedness of the cognitive sciences development headquarter to extensively support the implementation of scientific and specialized projects in the area of cognitive rehabilitation, asserting: the cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter is prepared to use the opinions of researchers and professors to find ways to facilitate this issue and provide better rehabilitation services in the society.

The first two-day cognitive rehabilitation symposium has been initiated since Thursday by the higher education institute of cognitive sciences and brain and cognition clinics in school of psychology and education of University of Tehran by the support of cognitive sciences and technologies development headquarter to evaluate the methods to provide rehabilitation services to patients with cognitive disorders and exchange scientific and research results among researchers of the field
