Port and Marine Technologies Are Being Developed

 

By signing a memorandum of understanding between the national space and advanced transportation administration and ports and maritime organization, the technologies in the field of maritime will develop in the country.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, this memorandum of understanding was signed in line with the general policies of the country for booming of production, developing of knowledge-based economy and creating entrepreneurship ecosystem in the field of ports and fleets. According to this agreement, creation and promotion of scientific, research, research, technical, service, training and manufacturing cooperation in the field of ports and navigation will be developed.

The agreement emphasizes that both parties must support the development of businesses and activation of chain of supply of maritime equipment and new materials that can be used in maritime structures produced by knowledge-based companies and the private sector.

In addition, increased participation and collaboration in the design of marine certification and related standards for domestically produced technological products and support for the deployment of port and maritime knowledge-based companies in ports of the country to meet the maritime organization"s technological needs are other provisions of this memorandum.

It is also decided that joint technological projects required by ports and maritime organization be followed up with the cooperation of universities that have a capacity regarding maritime technologies and knowledge and related knowledge-based companies and by using the capacity of private and knowledge-based companies in maritime-based development.

Holding joint entrepreneurial meetings in the field of maritime transportation and ports, such as technology challenge and idea market, cooperation and support of developing strategic studies in the field of ports and maritime transport such as Iran marine technology roadmap, and cooperation in and support of the production and development of offshore management and engineering software (such as modeling and measuring equipment for marine properties, engineering software and integrated coastal zone management) were other provisions of the agreement.

This memorandum of understanding was signed on the national day of transportation in the presence of Mohammad Eslami, the minister of road and urbanization, Manouchehr Manteghi, the chairman of the national space and advanced transportation administration, and the managers of ports and maritime and activists of the private sector.
